AAEC
International experience in education is one of the critical factors in the growth and development of a world perspective in a global economy. For students, gaining and maintaining a competitive edge in the marketplace is a keynote for their success. The right qualifications in education and training are paramount in achieving opportunities and recognition. Moreover, an understanding of the world is also important for students confronting the challenge of international competition. The AAEC is a new and exciting system of Higher Education across the Pacific featuring the best of both the Australian TAFE and the American Community College systems, combined with the best in E and Distance Education at University level in Australia and America. This new Dual Mode system is accessible, flexible and affordable. Studying abroad is something some students can only dream about with prohibitive costs of travel and study programs. A new initiative that focuses on the TAFE sector in Australia and the Community College system in America now means more students can travel, study and work in an exciting environment in Australia and the USA. While studying abroad is not a new concept, different international standards in education often means subjects and courses from one country are neither recognized nor accepted in another. This new initiative between three institutions in Australia and two in America ensures studying particular courses in either country will have reciprocal academic standing and recognition of achievement. The AAEC (Australian American Education Center) has been established by Northern Melbourne Institute of TAFE (NMIT) - Melbourne Australia and GreenRiver Community College (GRCC) - Seattle USA. It is administered from Melbourne, Australia and Seattle USA, by NMIT in conjunction with Green River Community College. The AAEC administers inquiries from students and maintains records of the student's achievement throughout their course of study.
